All things seem
set and good for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the PDP Board of Trustees
(BOT) officially endorsed him as the party's sole candidate for the forth
coming 2015 General elections. This is coming at a time were various
speculations have being made wether Jonathan would be given the mandate to
re-run, but with the turn out of things now, President Jonathan can now breath
a sigh of relief.
In lieu of this,President
Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday, tactically accepted his nomination by the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of
Trustees (BoT), promising not to disappoint in his capacity.
The president as a
form of acceptance stressed that For the Board Of Trustees (BOT)and National
Executive Council (NEC) to have that kind of confidence in me, is a big
challenge, extremely big challenge. But I promise, I will not disappoint you.”
It should be
further noted that The motion to adopt
the president at the NEC was moved by former acting national chairman of the
party, Dr Haliru Mohammed, who was seconded by Second Republic governor of the
old Enugu State, Chief Jim Nwobodo.
In addendum, the PDP NEC’s endorsement is the penultimate step
in the emergence of the president as the standard-bearer of the party, which is
now set to be ratified by its national convention on December 6, before he is
proclaimed the candidate.
