Lasu Students Appreciate Eyo Statue

Lagos State University, Ojo campus might not have a large land mass but it has a statue of the popular 'Eyo masquerade' which is close to the institution's main gate.

Eyo which is a festival in Lagos and also a big part of the state serves as a symbol of LASU's location in the centre of the excellence. Some students of LASU Thearte Arts department appreciates the presence of the statue as part of promotin of arts and culture in the state.

Olasunkanmi Oloyede, a final year student of the department feels the statue serves as the state's symbol and reminder to Lagosians about their heritage and culture. He also expressed that the statue should be more taken care of to make its beauty last longer.

Similarly, Ajose Olumide  said "When I came to this citadel of learning for post ume, the statue was one of the remarkable things that got my attention and i wish we would have our own eyo festival here in order to promote arts and culture".
